David serves as Acquisition Manager at Sarvis, overseeing our in-house acquisition team, ground game strategy, and vast network of industry relationships. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, David has acquired a wealth of knowledge pertaining to acquisitions and divestitures, asset management, as well as public E&P operations.
David began his oil and gas career as a land broker leasing, running title, and managing teams for due diligence projects on behalf of clients. This early framework and experience allowed David the opportunity to hone his skills as an in-house landman at Ovintiv (formerly Encana), covering the Haynesville, TMS, Eagleford, and Permian Basin. For over a decade while at Ovintiv, David completed over $250 million in trades, acquisitions, and divestments on an asset level, increasing the value of Ovintiv’s Midland Basin position by consolidating and coring up assets for development. David’s efforts on the land team led to the successful development and production of over 150 wells in Ovintiv’s highest quality assets in the Midland Basin. Additionally, David led the reserves reporting process for the mineral land team and worked on the Land Innovations and Solutions team. This team was integral in building internal corporate processes and software applications to maximize operational efficiencies.
David earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, with an emphasis in Music Business, the Recording Arts, and Audio Engineering where he won a Pac-10 Championship in 2002 as a member of the USC baseball team.
